THE AMERICAN BALLET COMPETITION

Established in 2004 by Katherine C. Kersten and Kee Juan Han, the American Ballet Competition offers a unique educational and performance opportunity for talented young dancers.  It exposes contestants to international guest teachers and artists through master classes, coaching sessions and unmatched opportunities to be viewed by professional dance directors from throughout the ballet world. Company Traineeships and Scholarships to some of the most prestigious dance schools in the United States and abroad are awarded along with cash and other awards including professional opportunities to perform.  

The American Ballet Competition is a competition with a difference. The competition is conducted in a nurturing, positive and organized atmosphere that promotes not only the artistic and technical growth of all participants but affords valuable insights and reality checks that address each contestant’s professional expectations.

INTERNATIONAL DANCE TEACHER SEMINARS

The future of dance depends upon great teachers of the art form. In keeping with its mission to contribute to the continuing education and development of dance teachers, IDEA presents renowned master pedagogues representing the major dance styles in the world of classical ballet. 

The seminars provide teachers in private and professional dance schools, colleges and universities opportunities to enhance, inspire and empower their teaching skills. Basic understanding of student development from the first year with class progression, technique, musicality, dance history and artistry are among the subjects comprehensively covered.
